I have had thoughts about this prog before but people seemed to think I was teacupping the storm.
I've run it again today and it's been running now for 2 1/2 hours and found 2 items and is only 1/2 way thro' the 'bar' along the bottom.
It always seems to do this and sometimes it freezes the lot and I have to reset the computer!
Adaware runs fine and fast and I've just run a full NAV check, defragged abt a week ago and no new software for weeks now.
I have a 1.8 Athlon proc, ABIT mobo and 512 Mb RAM.
1 RAID array with 1 X 7,200 HD plus 2 X normal IDE 7,200 UDMA HD s. CR-RW and plain 56 K CD player.
O/S is Win XP pro with SP 1 and most current updates. Internet access is via ADSL
Phew. Am I doing something wrong or is my copy of Spybot corrupt in some way. I'd really like to know.
Cheers, Docusk.

What I forgot to mention was that now - it's been running for 3 hours and is still in the same place - the whole computer & applications are running at warp speed minus 200,001 also known as walking-through-treacle-to-market!!!
I will now shut the bloody thing off and wait for some bright spark to a) enlighten me or b) tell me that's what it's meant to do.
Docusk, really p....d off today.

Sounds like it locked up. Reboot and try it again. It's a VERY popular software. I've never seen it do what it's doing on your machine.

Are you running other programs while Spybot is running? It's best to not have any programs open (other than the "services"). Also, try running Spybot in safe mode. Good luck! :D

I use to get a hang during the C2.lop scan on 1 of my pc's. Could be the same or similiar problem.

Another possiblity is all your automation settings are enabled.

delete the Configuration.ini file that Spybot creates then start Spybot and it will create a new one for you. Let it be at default.....try that.

I too have had it hang with the C2.lop infection. Run a search on yahoo or google for it and it will explain it. There is also a link to get it out.
Good luck with it.

What a bunch of happy helpers you all are! It took me less than 15 minutes to get my spybot cleaned up and running!
Updates included, donated to the site owner as well and it took 339 seconds to complete the scan.
Sailed right past C lop with no holdups at all.
Thanks to all of your for the helping hand. All in the course of a few hours as well.
