Hi,

Does anyone else have a Vel. 4400 PCI card and are they also having problems getting your pc to recognize it... and ALSO do you know a Socket 7 board... maybe even a K6-266

Its really getting to me, i have the EQ beta CD now, but since i don't have a 3D card that's good enough i can't run it... please help me!

BTW

I have been recomended to get a "Bios upgrade" would that fix the problem?

Yep, I have one, and it's on a socket seven board. Windows found it as soon as I booted up. I did end up reinstalling Windows to get rid of the residue ATi left behind. I've had only one problem since installation. Windows 98 assigned it to the same IRQ as my sound card. The other half of the problem was that I wasn't allowed to change the resources manually. So, I ended up in the BIOS trying to assign IRQ's there.
Couldn't figure out which was which, so I changed the PnP feature at the top to "Auto". Started Windows and sure enough they were moved. They now share IRQ's with PCI steering with no ill effects. No real horror stories here.
