In that case, you would just need to do normal bridging. please note that you will not be able to use these WAPs for other clients. If you needed to connect a remote lan with your WAP and still be able to connect other wireless clients, you would need a WET11 instead. you can get the userguide here: ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/manuals deane1935 02-20-2004, 02:21 PM I have a Linksys BEFW11S4with my PC off one of the switches. Also off the wireless side I have a remote pc with a Linksys WMP11 PCI card. I have a WAP11 connecting to the router(BEFW11s4) with cat5. This WAP11 is in my attic with an external antenna. About 1000 feet away I have another antenna. It connects to a pc with a DLINL520 PCI card. This scenario works fine. I am trying to put another WAP11 about 300 ft away with cat5 to pc with an ethernet card. I would like it to run wirelessy to the existing WAP11 with the external antenna. I want to use a WAP11 in this location because the pc is in a location I can't use a PCI card with. I need to go cat5 from the pc to the WAP11. Can this be done or am I digging myself a hole? Thanks Midknyte 02-20-2004, 02:26 PM you really need a WET11 instead. using 2 WAP11s in bridging mode won't allow you to connect any other wireless clients. deane1935 02-20-2004, 05:58 PM Returned the WAP11 and purchased WET11. Everything works. Thanks for the help.... cat5e 02-20-2004, 09:27 PM As far as I know the WAP11 can be configured to work in Client Mode. You probably configured it as Bridge borrowing the term from the WET11. The WET11 is actually a Driverless Client (NOT a real Bridge). Linksys marketing uses the word Bridge as a Marketing Ploy. It is not a Bridge as defined by Wireless Standards. I would prefer for the same money the WAP11 since it is a much better flexible unit than the WET11. However it works. Enjoy! . SysOpt.com
