Desktop P3 Win98se 98 M ram
NoteBook Dittoes.
Conected with Reverse. i.e. No Hub

Both were connected before we hooked up another noteBook w/ WinNT in place of other notebook. We had to shut down ZoneAlarm 3.* in order to do it. Worked good!
After connecting Orig. NB back up = no connect. This morning I shut ZA off of both machines and Walla! I turned ZA back on both machines and the connect was still good. After about an hour, the connect was gone and 5 or 6 reboots w/ ZA off and on both machines still NC. SO I uninstalled ZA off both machines = 0. I have pulled Net Card out of Desktop and reloaded drivers for same (as per card Directions), re hooked up NCard and P&P did its thing. I have put Network Neighbor Priorities back like the were and still Nada, Zilch. I am not sure about the bindings but they are the same as other machine. (Did Not Change It)

I would try removing the drivers for the network adapters and then reinstall them, because connecting to that NT computer might have screwed them up somehow.

I really appreciate your fast reply. As I said above I did re the drivers and re the net card on the desktop to no avail. The NoteBook was not connected to the NT machine.

But Guess what?! This AM w/out ZA being installed on either Machines they were connected! WALLA!

After Re ZA the DT worked ok, yet NB’s Explore Window froze up while accessing DT.

So, I re booted both and now both are working Great! While being online with the DT.

It must be the nature of the Beast. W98 to begin with and with the idiosyncrasies of ZA to boot. Pardon the pun.

A friend turned me on to SysOpt.com and I believe I have found a home. Will be reading the mail quite often. Good stuff!!

BTW! I took a look at your web sight and I do have it book marked now and will soon return!
