Well, I pre-ordered it!

I just pre-ordered Unreal 2004 Special Edition (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/239452.asp) w/ Logitech Headset. I was considering going for the regular version, but thought 'What the heck' and pre-ordered the Special edition. The Logitech headset sounds really cool too, as I've never used any kind of voice talk in a game. I pre-ordered it rather than wait until it comes out manly because I will spend all the money on other things (pizza, movies, etc) than a game that I really want. Also because our EB here sometimes can have a limited selection after everything is all bought up and they don't reorder the product.

Cool. How good is the game supposed to be? I loved the original Unreal Tournament but I heard that 2003 wasn't that good so I never played it.

UT2003 was cool, but it was just a prettied up UT. I hope UT2004 is more innovative.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with that statement... UT2003 was NOTHING like UT99. If anything UT2004 plays a lot more like UT99 than UT2003 EVER did. UT2003 played a lot more like Quake3 than anything, which is why the die hard UT fans didn't like it... UT2004 brings much of the UT99 feel back.

Not really, just a bit of a spit polish and a few new maps and modes, nothing groundbreaking at all however

Yeah, that usually makes me feel better too, UT2003 was ok, but did resemble quake too much.:)

I think they were trying to play it safe with UTK2003 and went for tried and true game play, but revolutionary game play is something that is needed from games now. Especially with HL2, Doom 3, and others coming out. I think now the engine is refined, and UTK2004 will try to be revolutionary (well, at least above average). :t

I think it will be Halo on steroids, at least with the vehicles and all. That's the part I will be really looking forward to, that and voice chat. :D

man I have to say the UT2004 is fantastic, if ur a UT player, I love it and im sure ill be pre-ordering it, but lord to put it up against Halo, Halo was a unwanted pile of dung, a natural disaster in my book, badly coded for PC and a totally un playable game online, a waste of money, my hat goes out to the UT gang again great game, even if it is just a spit a polish, still a nice job and my money will be spend on it:)

Halo was a great game! I played it when it FIRST came out on the XBOX though, had 0 bugs. Never played it for the PC.
