I am installing a new hard drive in my PC. It is the only hard drive on the machine. I cannot seem to enter BIOS by pressing and holding F1 or the delete key. I have a gateway 2000. Is there any surefire way (universal key stroke) to enter BIOS ??

What does the bootup screen says about entering the BIOS? In some older system, it is actually a setup program or key combinations such as Ctrl+Alt+S or Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Gateway has a 800 technical support. Try give them a call.
