I'm trying to help somebody over the telephone on this one...

They have Windows 98, and say that they are trying to change the screen resolution to 800x600 from the current 640x480 settings. When I lead them to the display properties, they say that the dialog box is so big that they can't see the "APPLY" or "SAVE" buttons, and they can't move the screen to see them either. Thus we can't change the resolution back to 800x600.

Anybody know another way to reset the screen resolution in Windows 98?

thanks

Yeah, after they get the resolution the way they want it, have them hit TAB 4 times then hit enter.

They can also set the taskbar to "Autohide" for a few minutes. ;)

Or they can drag the display settings window as far to the top as they can. The edge of the apply button is just visible enough to click on it.

When you press enter on the keyboard, that applies the save option.

Exactly. Just make the change and hit enter -- it should save. Good luck! :D
