Someone tell me, are the prices at computer shows cheaper than what you typically find online(newegg, tiger, zipzoomfly)?

People mention them often but I have never been to one. One guy posted that you can get a DVDROM for $20 at computer shows!

Any info on computer shows would be great.

You can get DVD-ROMs almost anywhere for around $25, and refurbs for around $20 from Newegg. Computer shows are best for finding "hard to find" stuff, and the prices are generally nothing special in my experience.

Over rated I feel.
Yes you can get stuff cheap, but usually with a pathetic warranty.
I'll stick to normal (but good) prices and not have to worry about the item dying infront of my eyes 3 weeks after purchase.
