Might be worth a look for anyone considering going SATA soon, THG seemed to like the Cuda in its recent review though some other tech sites have poured scorn on that paticular review and THG's reputation in general

They state clearly in the review that the Raptors are faster by far. If economy is factored in, the WDs lose their edge, naturally.

The Hitachi is a good drive that's faster than the Seagate and much cheaper than the Raptor.

Yup, im personally with Bill, im a big fan of the Hitachi 7K250 (i intend to pop one in this machine soon) as someone who dont yet see the point of SATA and a long standing fan of IBM Storage (and you dont get many of them).

3DSpotlight (i think t'were) were having a right ol bash at THG about their Cuda review the other day likes :eek:

It should be mentioned that The Hitachi comes in both SATA and PATA versions - as well as 2MB and 8MB flavors. Confusing...
