Help with Thermal Compound????

hi i just got a celeron 300 a chip and an abit BH6 motherboard and i am new at building a computer. i have no trouble with anything except figuring out where the heatsink compound goes on the fan or chip??? If you could send me some kind of picture or something that would be greatly appreciated. i have asked around and no one can seem to give me an answer i can understand!!!!

The compound goes in between the heatsink and the CPU, where they touch.
