How good is ATI's Intel chipset, I need a new MOBO for an Intel machine and might go ATI, I like the built in 9100 Graphics.

Well...

The D865GBF I believe is the mobo you are talking about, it has intel Extreme 2 integrated video. We did some benchmarking on it as comparing it to a radeon 7000 and 7500 and 9200. Well, it beat out the 7000 and 7500, and did marginally worse than the 9200 SE(lite version). Now if you aren't really a gamer and a score of 3000 on 3dmark2k is okay with you, then go with it, otherwise, spend a hundred bucks and get a decent vid card, such as the Radeon 9600.

kthxbye

The onboard 9100 IGP stinks:

As far as the chipset goes, I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig.

Get a board with the Intel 865G chipset. Test out the built-in video. If it's too slow for you then just get a good budget video card like the ATI 9600.

Thanks for the input, I decided to get an Abit IS7-E with a 9800 Pro or 9600XT
