Will a modern Robotics 56K V90 modem to talk to an old 9600 modem and if so how do I set them up?

Yes, new modems auto-negotiate downward to communicate at the lowest common denominator..Set your modems up with the newest drivers and they should work ...

P.S. FYI X2 and v.90 are compression schemes and have nothing to do with baud rate..
