Recently brand new to WinXP.

In Win98, I used to back-up the wifes Outlook Express mail files & address book to my Zip disk by drag & drop, then just import them back to original locations when I screw something up or do a "Go-Back" restore.

Could someone please tell me where I can find these files in WinXp Pro? Are they still *.dbx & *wab files? Can I still drag & drop, or do I hafta "Export files" to a back-up location?

Thank's Much!

Do a search for the inbox and it will show you the folder location.

Then you can copy the entire folder to a different drive.

Thank's for the quick reply, Sterling_Aug.

I just did a file search for "inbox"...Nothing turns up?

C:\Documents and Settings\(user-name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\(this is a string of letters & numbers)\Microsoft\OutlookExpress

This should help but you will have to enable show hidden files & folders to see them I believe.

In the future, let OE tell you. You can then move it where you want:

AhHa!

That was the trick!...To show hidden files & folders!

I wondered where all those files went in XP? This'll be a cake walk from here...Thank's Much to you, Mobiker...And as well to you, Bipolarbill.
