Does anybody know how to get S/PDIF from a Sound Blaster PCI 512? I saw some article on the internet about getting it from a PCI 128 using one channel of the stereo output, and I wondered it it was possible on a PCI 512.

I would like to see this article.
Theres no s/pdif connections on this card that I could see. There would be two. One in and one out. Quote
"S/PDIF (IEC-958) uses 75 ohm coaxial cable and RCA connectors. 75 ohm coaxial cable is
inexpensive, because it is the same cable as used in video transmission (you can buy a video cable with RCA connectors to connect you S/PDIF equipments together). Coaxial S/PDIF connections work typically at least to 10-15 meter distances with good 75 ohm coaxial cable."
If your plan on doing digital recording you need a real card with s/pdif.

You might want to check this out. Its cheap enough to give it a try and if it doesnt pan out you dont lose much money.
