Hi All,
I have a serious problem.
I bought before 8 monts 2 mobo GA-8SG667 9for me and my friend) with P4/1.8A procesors, but before 2 weeks my mobo stop boot amd two days after and my fiend says same.
I'm wondering what can be? I change the PSU, HSF, memory ..... but nothing i think that this can be sth in socket or mobo. Can help me to solve that mistery.
P.S without HSF mobo boot ,bet cpu is very hot...

Booting the system with a Pentium 4 processor without its cooling unit properly fitted to it will probably have burned the processor out before any cut-out could kick in from any heat-protection circuitry.

Did you run the processor in that state when you first installed it?

If so, you have probably ruined it.

Try installing another processor - properly protected by a cooling unit - on the board to find out for sure.

You should learn everything you need to know about building computers before you try building one.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for reply , but I want to say that if i release retension kit on HSF from mobo without remove HSF completely, mobo boot, as for your question - sure that i know that that if i turn on processor without HSF will be damaged.
I try with P4 celeron but results was same.
