Is it possible to automatically log out a user who has logged on but has been inactive for x ammount of time? Win2000 pro.

It can be done using the winexit.scr file that comes with NT4 (only the Server version if I recall), can you get it? Right click on it and select Install, it'll be installed as a regular screen saver

Go for winexit, it's the MS way to do it; I think it may have been distributed with later Windows versions, XP included.

If it's on a 2k network use group policies to set the idle log out times. I'm just looking at group policies now, and teching myself what they do etc. Their range of functionality is quite extensive.

While you're at it, keep in mind that the "idle log out times" you're talking about are for sessions in SMB servers
