Try downloading Winboost 2001. You can do some really sweet stuff, like edit shut-down/startup messages, cheat in hearts, custoize icons, customize start menu, ect...

lets not forget that the internet is also a source of information. I find a lot of sites with tons of information about literature, sciences, technology. take the extra hour you spend on games every day and use it to study a new language, or astronomy, anything you desire, and after less than a year you will have a vast intillectual background in that subject. think about it.
