we've been playing for a while, even though it's "anti-linux" as one guy said.

Low score is just as hard (not counting 0), I've gotten about 67.something on that. One girl got 64.1

That game was definitely developed by Bill Gates...and that's probably the farthest his programming skills go :D

Bill Gates programming? Ha ha, you're probably right, that's as far as they go. All he does is marketing, and has a bunch of henchmen. . . I mean employees to do the real work.

Keep in mind that he did program a great deal of early Microsoft creations. And he stepped down from the CEO position so that he could be more involved in the development of programs.

Food for thought. ;)

Either way, I had a lot of respect for him back in the day, no matter how he did it (marketing or programming) he was good at it. The only problem I really have with MS is the "We own your soul" licensing terms. WM9 really pushed it over the edge.

Yes I agree with you fully. But I am a little in the dark about WM9. I don't use it a whole lot, so I don't know what's bad about it. Does it report your songs to MS or what?

Windows Media Player 9 series EULA portion

* Solely for the purpose of preventing unlicensed use of the applicable OS_Software, the OS Components may install on your computer technological measures that are designed to prevent unlicensed use, and Microsoft may use this technology to confirm that you have a licensed copy of the OS Software. The update of these technological measures only occurs through the installation of these OS Components. The OS Components will not install on unlicensed copies of the OS_Software. If you are not using a licensed copy of the OS Software, you are not allowed to install the OS Components or future OS Software updates. Microsoft will not collect any personally identifiable information from your computer during this process.

* The OS Components may include the Microsoft .NET Framework. You may not disclose the results of any benchmark test of the .NET Framework to any third party without Microsoft’s prior written approval.

* Content providers are using the digital rights management technology contained in the OS Components ("DRM") to protect the integrity of their content ("Secure Content") so that their intellectual property, including copyright, in such content is not misappropriated. Portions of the OS Components and third party applications such as media players use DRM to play Secure Content ("DRM Software"). If the DRM Software’s security has been compromised, owners of Secure Content ("Secure Content Owners") may request that Microsoft revoke the DRM Software’s right to copy, display and/or play Secure Content. Revocation does not alter the DRM Software’s ability to play unprotected content. A list of revoked DRM Software is sent to your computer whenever you download a license for Secure Content from the Internet. You therefore agree that Microsoft may, in conjunction with such license, also download revocation lists onto your computer on behalf of Secure Content Owners. Microsoft will not retrieve any personally identifiable information, or any other information, from your computer by downloading such revocation lists. Secure Content Owners may also require you to upgrade some of the DRM components in the OS Components ("DRM Upgrades") before accessing their content. When you attempt to play such content, Microsoft DRM Software will notify you that a DRM Upgrade is required and then ask for your consent before the DRM Upgrade is downloaded. Third party DRM Software may do the same. If you decline the upgrade, you will not be able to access content that requires the DRM Upgrade; however, you will still be able to access unprotected content and Secure Content that does not require the upgrade.

Mainly the first and third paragraphs. I'll concede that the third paragraph is not solely thier doing, but in my opinion. . . I should be the one that decides what plays, executes, displays, and the like on my computer. The power starts out small, and grows. The second part says I can't tell people how something performs? Well I don't agree with that, if I want to tell you ".NET sucks, is slow, and should never be touched" and back it up with evidence, I'll do it. (Not trying to dis .NET, never used it, it's just an example). Piracy control is one thing, but privacy control is something else. Windows already phones home too much. You can't even do a search in a help box without Windows reporting to MS what you're doing.

See what you started nadine ;)

It doesn't count when you use the "tweaked" version

Here's a video illustrating how "tweaking" is dealt with :p :D

There are versions out there that have been adjusted where you can get up to 700+ fairly easily.

It's no big deal, we weren't playing for money or anything anyway. I just thought it was a good opportunity to showcase that video :D

I'm surprised how many copies of that game are out there!!!
