General Protection Fault

Hi,
Can someonr please enlighten me as to what this error refers to. I have got this when trying to get online with AOL and had to restart my machine after each time so I'm now using my alternate ISP to ask this question.

MPREXE caused a General Protection Fault in module USER.EXE at 0005:00001 fcd

Have you tried reinstalling AOL? Somtimes this occurs because a file has become corrupted. Also, I find that running a scandisk will at times clear up the problem.

Thanks Psycho Logical,

I found out that the error was only occuring on one Access Number and it would work just fine on any other one so it's ok for now.

I did use the Knowledge Base to find out the answer to why I get an error message related to IRQ Steering in Win ME when looking in System Information under problem devices. It seems to be a design feature and no actual problem.
