Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Is there a better movie player than Windows Media Player?
I'd like to know if there maybe is a better one out there. Sometimes I am just dissappointed by it. It changes the brightness of the video that Im watching sometimes in fullscreen and it makes it very dark.
The only thing Im worried about is if the other movie playerz have the same type of suport for DivX and stuff.
Thanks for the help/suggestions

If you have the newest Player, it has options for controlling the brightness.
If you want to opt for a different player try Playa
http://www.divx.com/features.php
It is bundled with Divx codecs.....

Im almost positive I have the new player (unless that download I did for it was useless). But where are the brightness controls?

i have tried many and so far, THE BEST i have seen is "BSplayer". It uses FAR less system resources compared to ANY other player.
btw..... i am not joking with the "BS" in the name. I dont know why they named it that way, but this thing is no bs.
It can be downloaded from www.bsplayer.cjb.net (http://www.bsplayer.cjb.net)

Yes, the playa is a very good viewer but it only seems to support avi's, i like its performance but sometimes it gets into a jam and doesn't seem to be able to get out.
Another suggestion would be GDIVX, find it at http://www.gdivx.com/
very simple controls and reliable, it can practically replace ur current windows media player as it supports most movie formats.

Brightness can be adjusted via codecs' options, in almost any video player. For playing multiple video formats, I recommend on Sasami2k (www.sasami2k.com), tonz of options :)

Use PowerDivx NextGen myself. Might want to give it a try. The site is French, though the player is available in English.

hi vintron. i just tried bsplayer and it does use less resources than music match. i just have a couple of questions of its use.
i can put mp3 in the playlist but i don't know how to save the list.when i shut down the list is gone when i start up again.
how to i get rid of the blue box with the sound waves?
can i put more than 1 song at a time in the playlist?
how come only 1 song at a time shows in the playlist? i can't see all the mp3 that i put in.
