Ya, this is my first time posting so I don't know what you guys need to know. I got a G-Force Ti 4800 for christmas of 2002, I installed it and everything. Once I installed it I noticed that I was getting worse performance out of it then I was getting out of our previous G-Force 3. I was not able to up the graphics of any of my games, and I ended having to lower then in such games as Counter-Strike, Warcraft III, and Tribes 2. It has been 2 years and I was getting tired of it, a friend recomended me to this forum, so any help at all would be very appreciated. Also, my computer is fully updated.

Welcome to SysOpt :)
You mean FX 5800 right? Can you give us some other system details? Also, what drivers are you using for the graphics card?

Welcome to the board. I think we'd all be very happy to help out but we need to clarify a few things right up front so we know what we're really working with:
I. We need to know what videocard you really have, in late 2002, GeForce FX wasn't available in the 4800 flavor, but WAS available in the 5800 Variety which came with a rather gigantic and extremely loud fan. Alternatively, you may be talking about a GeForce Ti. In this case, if the model number is "4800" and its getting worse performance than a GeForce 3 Ti, its likely one of the "SE" versions of the GeF4 Ti4800 cards.
These cards were extremely nuetered by nVidia, and performed about on par with a GeF4 MX 440, sometimes worse if you enabled the overload of special effects featured on the Ti range of cards (as apposed to the MX series).
So if you can, provide us with:
Manufacturer of your card (please bare in mind that nVidia is a chipset vendor, they don't actually manufacture your videocard)
A Model Number if you can find one
The dates or versions of your software drivers
Your brand and model of Mainboard, and any other computer related information you think would help us help you diagnose the problem.

http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/lol_hitting.gif The Ti4800SE is nothing more than a Ti4400 GPU with AGP 8x support. Nothing neutered or close to ATI's definition of "SE". :x

Well I typed it wrong, its a GeForce4 Ti 4400, my bad. I don't know how to find out what our computer is running on, so if you could tell me then I can give you detailed info on that subject, otherwise I think it is a Pentium 3 Processor, no idea on mother board, and so on. Plz tell me how to find this out so I can help you to help me fix this problem. No idea on # or anything like that.

No, the Ti4800 is a Ti4400 with AGP 8X support. The Ti4800SE was a neutered version of the same card, called "Special Edition" hence, SE.
Now, moving right along, Focus - is it a prebuilt system by Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, Gateway, or any other big name computer manufacturer?
If you said no, then it may be a little harder, let me know the answer to the above question first. Righto :)

I'd like to know what is so "neutered" about the Ti4800SE. It performs right in line to a Ti4400- which is where it should be.

Izzin the specs, unless nVidia pulled a quicky, when they first came out, the 4800's and 4800SE's were different on the premise that the SE's were nuetered, the 4800's were not.
If that changed, it probably did, I've been too busy in my engineering classes and knee deep at work to know or care about the latest trends or "Bandaids" to bad market decisions
Whatever floats :)
