upgraded system, and reinstalled win98se on new computer.

dial up networking is ok, but when i close the browser i seem to have lost the small screen that asks me if i wish to stay connected or to disconnect now.

i know i can click on small terminal window to disconnect, but i would like to avoid a "senior" moment and forget to disconnect when i am working somewhere else,,,,, for that reason i would like to restore.

have reviewed dial up properties using win98 setup guide and can see nothing different from before.

thanks in advance.

I forget!

Look in Internet Options > Connections and try one of the bottom two selections there:

Are you referring to a terminal widow supplied by your ISP software or is it win98/microsoft based? Did you change ISP's.. If I understand you correctly, and I think I do I would look at my ISP software. sounds like you are on dialup...

thanks for the help in solving this problem.

i accidentally stumbed on the following web page
www.ramcomputers-inc.com

in the tech tip sections it details how to modigy the
enableexitdisconnect key in the registry.

i tried it and the terminal disconnect box reappeared.

Sweet, glad you figured it out... a registry entry sounds logical,, didn't think of that... I stay away from the registry,, should learn to use/modify it more.. though... good luck T-32...
