Thanks Antonio for letting me know about this thread. I'm so moved by all your well wishers, I'm in tears and almost can't see the screen.
Well the bottom line is my wife has cancer. She's 39. We found out about 3 weeks ago. All I ever wanted to do in my life was help others. But now my wife needs me. So unfortunately I won't be around as much as in the past, but I will of course stop by and help out when I can. Actually, with all the quality tech people that are here, my presence isn't needed that much. And of course I have learned from many of you too.
So thanks for all the well wishers out there. I just can't describe how touched and thankful I am, so I won't try to.
I'll see you all around the boards.
I'm so sorry to hear that Nathan. If there's anything you need, just send me an email. I've had family members go through that too, so if nothing else, I'll be here for support.
We'll all be praying with you.

Nathan;
I'm terribly sorry to hear about your wife. I'll be praying for her and I'd hope that many others here will also. You can never have too much prayer.

Nathan,
All sympathy and hope go out to your wife and you. If my 65-year-old dad could make it through leukemia (and he has! and is golfing, gardening, and doing consultant work four years later) so can your wife. Just keep a sharp eye on those insurance bills, search for the best doctors and hospitals, and keep careful records of medical history and medications (because even the most caring health workers can make mistakes: a pro-active patient can catch these errors and provide necessary continuity as records are shuffled around the hospital). Most importantly, do not despair!
While you may feel powerless and scared now, you are not without some control of the process. Illness is a problem that has tasks that can be broken down and worked through, like any other. I have full confidence that once the initial shock is over, you and your wife will be able to put your best feet forward to fight the cancer.
Yours truly,
Jeana

I'm speechless as to all those here who took time to write us. Despite the very rocky road we are on now, you are an oasis in the desert. I am truly humbled by all your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks
We're here for support Nathan, Technical and Moral/Spiritual. I never knew when I started this that the response would be this overwhelming. There are a lot of good people here, and we're all here for each other. When my martial arts instructor died from cancer, I hated the thought of that horrible disease, but relized that he was a fighter, and he fought it for years. If it wasn't for the strength and support of his family and friends, he would have died a long time ago, I think. Here's to you and your wifes speedy remision. May the rest of your years together be filled with nothing but love and strength. And I pray that your years together are many.
-Your friend.

Dear Nathan,
I dared not add to this thread because there was nothing I could really add to the wonderful posts above.
I know neither you nor your wife, but my thoughts are with you and your family in this very trying time. I can think of nothing more suitable to say.
Dear Sysopt,
I joined this board after using the site's info to help me build my first PC. After that I started making posts (I am not expert - my first was simply to thank everyone for the information that allowed me to build my PC!), but I have learned much since.
This thread does Sysopt, its contributors and posters nothing but credit. There is a real friendship and community spirit here, united by a common desire to share knowledge, regardless of the subject, and I am proud to be considered a "Member".
