Most people just register a new name and use it, but any post totals from the "old" account will not be transferred.
Dunno if there is any official way of doing it.....Moderators?........

Jixor, Most people just register a new name and use it, but any post totals from the "old" account will not be transferred.

Then you say "cyclone2 thank you for taking the time to help me! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif "

Jixor, I really doubt that anyone knowing the sweet manors associated with the name will want it, but that's very thoughtful of you http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Jixor

Just register under the new name. I'm not sure if it will accept the "/" backslash character, but you can try - it should tell you if you can't.

No one else will be able to register under the "Jixor" name because as long as that name isn't "deleted" from the registration base, no one else can use it. It's kept that way so there is no confusion - everyone must have a unique name.

Hope that helps http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes, the admins typically do not close accounts. A user name that is unused, just lays dormant and only you can use it. As a moderator, I do not have those priveleges. I believe only Scott does.

Scott is the only person that can remove accounts from this UBB, as not even the mods or myself have that authority. About the only reason we ever choose to remove an account is to ban a member for multiple violations of the forum's usage policies.
