So far this is what I'm going to put in my new computer:
Epox 8k7A (This mobo+TBird+OCZ Gladiator is a combo)
T-Bird http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif@ 1.58-1.7ghz(I will be sent a cpu that has been tested within these ranges)
OCZ Gladiator
IBM 20gig 7200rpm hdd(Mostly mp3's)
Kingston 256megs of pure DDR 2100 goodness
Sony or the next cheapest 52x cd-rom(dad has a dvd)
Still looking for a good CHEAP case with 4 or 5 5.25" dives and 3 or 4 3.5" bays. Anyone know where I can find one to fit my epox? Please rate what i have so far 1-5, 5 being the best.(So far)
If this is in the wrong foroum, please move it Fingers!

The only thing I would do is go for a bigger hard drive. 20 gigs is a good amount, but I like to have lots of extra room.. But thats just me I guess.. Other than that it should make a nice system http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I know 20 gigs is small, but most of my stuff is on my dad's computer http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

You didn't mention your vid card. It would be a shame to let a sweet system like that go to waste with a m64 or something (although I'm sure you just forgot to tell us about your GeForce3, right).
Other wise it looks nice! I have the same mobo, and I really like it! As for the case go with an Enlight. Make sure both the PS, and ram are AMD approved. Then your good to go! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
opps forgot to rate. 2 till you get post the vid card. Then I think your system calls for a 5 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Kindly allow me to focus your attention on something important. You wrote:

You are purchasing some nice components. I especially like the idea of a pretested combo. Good thinking. I've got to believe the components so far mentioned come with a moderately heavy price tag. Don't put these fine components in a cheap box! Many computer builders / assemblers seem to forget that the case is one of the most important parts of your system. With that CPU, you will likely generate some heat. Throw in a vidcard and the inside of your box will be more than warm. I would suggest that you carefully evaluate cases that will provide great ventilation to insure that your CPU and cards are being supplied with lots of air for cooling, and that the box is equipped with a good hot air exhaust system or fan configuration. Certainly price should be a factor, but take "the financial hit" if necessary and invest in a good box to house your great system. A box that will satisfy future [upgraded] systems as well. I'd recommend a full-size tower, perhaps an Inwin. Many come equipped pre-modded with several good fan configurations.
Good luck.
