I didn't know about the first one. This one seems good though. So many good racing games coming out, like Juiced, but all the new games have not many cars. GT3 had at least 100 cars and a good 30 companies to chose from. Only if they could mix a big car sleection and this new cool street racing genre. :t

the street racing genre isn't cool, track racing is great, street racing isn't.
The problem with it is people see it as "cool", but explain to me where endangering your, my and everyone else life is "cool". It isn't, it isn't even remotely great. It's very dangerous, and often ends up in fatalities.
I can understand the wish to be looked at, to be different to everyone else (christ I drive a Marlin Roadster), but what I cannot understand is 2 things
1) why these "street-racers" are so damned garish. I mean, does that spolier really help (why didn't the manufacturers put it on then), and that bodykit, that'll help the aero-dynamics
2) if you want to be "different" why do they dress, drive and act the same as everyone else. They also drive cars with the same look to everything else. That aint different, thats acting like a sheep.
It really puzzles me. Now don't get me wrong, some of the modded cars look great, I mean seeing an FTO, a Skyline... with subtle body tweaks look great, but a Pug 206, a VW Golf, a new Mini, a Renault Megane... Notice the similarity there, the cars we don't see everyday look "good", those we do look poop.
Most of these people can't drive either, they suggest they can, but to me, driving is all about using the roads/track to the n-1th degree, where n represents safe limit of the road or location. Most of these hoodlums drive like loons in car-parks with pedestrians around.
The whole street racing mould needs to be looked at, and questions should be raised as to how to stop it, or at least get them off the damned streets and into safe venues!
NFS:Underground was a half decent game tho

I gotta admit while im not really into 'track racing' (im a rally boy - oh, byw Stefan, is the Pirelli coming back to our neck of the woods again this year?). Im not really into this 'street racing' thing, my personal opinion is that if you wanna race do it in a closed, safe environment, not on a public road. That said i do quite like the whole souping up side of things, though since the advent of The Fast And The Furious, every teenager with a card has seen fit to go mad with spoilers, skirts etc and the vast majority of em do look absoloutley ****, in short, leave it to the guys who know how to do this sort of thing properly, isnt car insurance expensive enough as it is in this country? (that said most people seem to be driving without any nowadays)

I like road courses the best...like th ewinding ones where your required to brake downshift and upshify constantly....that's racing
give me a good F1 car or a porshe anyday...
Although I respect the stock car racers and their craft..this is just stupid to go round and round in a circle.... although the nascar games are made quite good and are pretty fun...
tires .wheels and souped up engines are all you need..agree on the overkill aspect...most of them have no real clue as to what they are doing....but when I was young I sped around evrywhere and got lots of speeding tickets....
I bet driving in Europe is a hoot, with all the winding roads and such... a good austin martin or BMW would be a kick..

'Track' racing bores me, round and round and round and ZZZZZZZ
I like the idea of cruises, but think that there should be moves to set-up legal cruises on closed public roads, in a similar way to which most rally's are run

Pirelli Rally is landing in Gateshead on 23rd April, moving up to Kelider and what-have-ya later that day and the 24th & 25th.
I have a strange feeling I'm going to miss it all tho :( It's my 21st on the 24th and my parent's have "arranged" something, but won't tell me what. Handy really, cos I'm making plans to go to the rally ;)
Nascar/Indy racing is reasonably boring to watch - watching cars fly round an oval . Track racing is good, but it depends on the cars which are on the track, take F1 or single seater stuff for instance - all tactical, Touring Cars however
What you should be looking for Rabbitrunner51, are hill-climbs. Great stuff!

I still love Race Driver 1, the graffx and handling are spot on and the online play is the best, I bet my 9700Pro will sweat blood when I play RDll. :D
