So I'm searching the internet, things start to slow down. I check Zone Alarm and I notice that I have around 100 alerts and climbing. I watch it for less than a minute and the alerts jump to over 400. Not really knowing what was going on I just shut down and get back on later. Can anybody tell me what was going on? My roommate, is running ZA too, and his was doing the same thing. We are on a college LAN connection if that might be of some use. Does anybody know of any explanation?

There is a program that will allow you to view the alerts and what type they are.
go here to download it. http://zonelog.co.uk/
The name is zone log
It is an addon for zone alarm.
Good luck

This seems to be normal nowadays. A lot of them are probes from hackers, zombie computers, even your own ISP checking to make sure that you aren't running a server. At least you can rest easy knowing that ZA is catching all of them.

Man!!...I get way too many ZA reported hits myself, maybe 1 or 2 every 5 minutes or so, but 400 in a matter of minutes?? that sounds kinda like a denial of service attack on the lan system. I think if it was me, I would be asking whoever has control over the lan system what in the heck is going on.
