Hey Guys.

I have had this problem many other times. My Win2k setup rips at the hard drive for 3-5 minutes after everything is loaded at startup. I have tried removing some of the services that did this, only to have my entire network setup borked (could not establish dial-ups any more, even after re-enabling all services), so I'm not trying that. Nothing is using Find Fast, etc. so what could be causing this??? My HD is NOT Fragmented, so that's not it either.

Did you mess with memory cache settings ? Look there and try going back to default settings, if you did.

Best Regards ...

Well, I have tried messing with some registy settings, and before doing this I made a backup of the registry. My computer does this w/ and w/o the special settings.
