Hi all,
I work as an ICT technician/Network administrator for a large IT college in the UK (2000+ users).
As part of my contract I am entitled to 4 training courses a year so my question is:
What 4 IT courses would you want to take given the chance?
I know what I am thinking of taking but would be interested in hearing other peoples opinions.
TIA
Eddy

Hi,
I would take the MCSE if you don't have it already.
But my main choice would be CISCO (the highest level you can get)
Then something web based like the CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster)
Then since you're a technician you probably (maybe) are in a helpdesk type of environment - so I'd take the Helpdesk Institute certification (helps U get more money as well as easier to get into mgmt in your current area/dept.)
The 4th would be something in the multimedia area.
Hope that made sense...

Thanks,
Good ideas but i think MCSE is out of the question, its a budget thing http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
I like the helpdesk idea & think it would be very useful, never hurts to improve your inter-personal skills.
Besides the career advancement options I would also like to know what people are really interested in learning about.
Thanks for the help.

I am studying for my MCSE and my CCNA.
I would recomend you take the Win2000 Prof and Server course. Then a Cisco course and finally maybe a Novell class...
If you want, I can look up the Microsoft and Cisco stuff for you. I know nothing about Novell though.

Exchange 2000 Enterprise
(Win2k Adv Server is so mail enabled you'll get a lot of general server info as well)
Or ASP and HTML programming using a SQL back end
