going to be buying a 5600 or ATi equivalent (9600 right ?)
the only reason i dont want to go ati is because of their poor record with drivers. the last one i bought was a radeon 32 & i had to wait weeks for the XP drivers to come out.
im hoping ati has done better since then.
do the ATis come with digital vibrance ?
the final question go fx5600 or ati 9600 ?

The FX5600 normally has less performance than the Radeon 9600.
My recommendation is the Radeon 9700 Pro or the FX5900 non ultra. Both are great cards with relatively good prices.
The 9700 Pro will be good for longer because handles DX9 games well and does excellent with AA and AF turned on.
The FX5900 is super fast with most games right now. It is pretty bad on DX9 games, and using AA and AF seriously hinders performance.
Most PC gamers today use at least mid range levels of AA and AF, the 9700Pro shines in this case. I apologize if these are out of your price range.
Here's some links for ya:

The FX5900 also can be overclocked quite a bit.
A cheaper card, but very good card, would be the 9600XT

This card doesn't push incredibly high FPS, but it stays consistently playable with AA and AF turned up. And you get Halflife 2 for free, when it comes out......

ATi Drivers are good to go.
No, ATi does not offer Digital Vibrance.
Of the 2, 9600 all the way. Just don't get a 9600SE.

The odd application specific issue may po up now and again, but other than that theyre pretty much there. Theyre also being updated on roughly a monthly basis so any issues that do exist are usually nipped in the bud promptly.
In addition to this Ati is also currently on top of the performance and quality pile in so far as graphics cards are concerned, what else could one want
