I just installed a HP 840c printer that prints ok but takes too long to print, more than 1 minute for a normal text page. I had a HP 400 deskjet before that ran ok. The printer is installed through parallel cable to a pentium II 350 MHz, 128 MB ram running on Windows 98.
Anyone have a clue as to how to make the printing quicker?

Thanks in advance

Are you spooling your print jobs?

1)Click the Start button

2)Settings

3)Printers

4)Right click your printer & select properties

5)Select the Details tab

6)Select the Spool Settings button

7)Select Spool Print jobs so program finishes printing faster & select Start Printing after first page is spooled

8)Click OK

See if this helps,
