I just got the Motorola StarTac ST7868W cell phone (replaced my Samsung flip phone).

I was just posting this to find out what people might feel about this phone and maybe tell me if there are any special functions on the phone and I am looking at getting the following:

1 - StarTac clip on organizer
1 - data link with software to my computer

Has anyone purchased the above? Waste of money or work well?

I was looking at getting both the above options as apposed to a Palm Pilot. Or should I just forget the clip on orginizer and just get a Palm Pilot.

I was looking at the clip on orginizer because it looks more usefull for contacts and calendar and my to-do list. Also I was wondering if it will sync with Outlook 2000 contact list and to-do list, etc.

I think the add on is a REX based system that just bit it...you may wanna confirm...
(I could be wrong---I have a REX organizer with a class action lawsuit pending)

I've been using one in light duty for about six months now. I find it has about up to twice the volume and a stronger signal strength than my previous Nokia 5160. Also I can maintain a solid connection at 40 percent signal strength. With my Nokia that took about 67 percent. Mine came with an 1100ma Lithium Ion battery. I've seen batteries available from places on the internet up to 2700ma. I settled on a 1400ma slim line battery for a spare. With the phone turned on ready to recieve calls, but minimal actual time talking and 1400ma battery it gives me three to four days before I have to recharge. The slim line 1400ma battery just barely fits in the plastic belt holster/clip. Anything larger and you would have to go with a separate case, with clip, or something different than what comes with it.
