Okay, Dave's is nice.... Stan's is VERY VERY nice http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif A man after my own heart, but with more budget to throw at it!
Okay, this an OLD box: the case and motherboard are over three years old, the CPU's are two years old and the rest of it is mostly a year or so old... except the GXP's and mouse http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Still does reasonably well for itself...
Hurricane:
TekRam P6B40D-A5 Dual PIII motherboard (4d/5p/1s/1i/1a)
2 x Intel PIII-560Mhz CPU's (500's@5x112Mhz)

Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card
Creative Labs SB Live! (with Digital Daughterboard)
Creative Labs Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Theatre 5.1
21" EIZO T960 (w USB hub) 1600 x 1200 @ 92 Hz (@85Hz under win2000)
Wide Midi Tower Clio2 with 430W Enermax PSU
3-com ISDN USB Sportster PRO
Microsoft Natural Keyboard
Microsoft Explorer (5 button) Intelli-Optical Mouse
Samsung Couple M-10 USB Camera
Canon Canoscan 630U (slimline)
Looking to up the CPU's sometime soon... probably gonna get 2 x socket 866's on riser cards and then OC to 112x8=896Mhz (highest FSB speed and highest multipier)... then can look at a new mobo for future upgrades or overclocking... still happy with that mobo otherwise http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm more into Emulation than standard PC games ATM, (Though i still play a lot of PC games http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif), so it's more than enough for now. I'd like to try out WinXP, then i can slap that extra 256 MB back in, haha.
Also got a Promise ATA/100 controller card on the way, plan to use it so my CD-ROM and CDRW can be on their own channels, and I plan to add a DVD drive.

Not impressive but it does everything I need it to as far as games and DVDs go. Course I do have a few upgrades I want in the future like a new 30GB 7200RPM IDE HDD, a new soundcard, and a new videocard. This is for the computer I use. It's on a LAN that has a B&W laser printer that I use to print non-color documents as to conserve ink. Here it goes:
Translucent ATX Mid-Tower
Tyan Trinity 400(S1854) [VIA Chipset]
Intel Pentium III Coppermine 800EB MHz Flip Chip [Retail]
Kingston 256MB PC133 NON ECC SDRAM

[E:]Delta 12x/40x DVD-ROM Drive w/Intervideo WinDVD software decoder
Realtek 10Mbps/100Mbps NIC
Xerox DocuPrint M750 Inkjet Printer
Belkin 4 Port Powered USB Hub
Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick (Game Port)
Gravis Xterminator Extreme Digital Gamepad (USB)
Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse USB (The best mouse I've ever owned, purchased it mostly on impulse at Media Play and fell in love with it)
Handspring Visor Deluxe HotSync Cradle (USB)
7-Minute UPS (If I get my computer turned off fast enough it'll run my TV for over an hour :D )
Translucent QWERTY Windows Keyboard (PS/2)
Compaq QVISION 210 21" Moniter (My pride and joy of this whole rig, 21" is great for watching those DVDs! It's awful desk shopping though so my current desk is home/custom made, I made it with my Dad)

It's all meant well, for upgrades I would recommend a DVD and CDRW set versus an all in one, also when buying one with burn-proofing or such be aware of this and problems it can create with music discs. Are you caching the memory of the video card to the system? I wouldn't recommend it unless you get at least another 256 shot of ram. The DVD and CD-RW units would be recommended in place of the 56x cd-rom, and the older CD-RW you have, and on todays economy it's almost a steal.
I would sell the others off to a friend or something to help cut the costs on the new units. Hope you have a UPS of some kind.
For starts your system is pretty nice, be ready for a 400W or more if you want more cooling, etc.
I won't talk this posty to death anymore though.
Have fun!
That's what this is really about.
Laters.
