My sound does not play anymore, and neither do any games. They all worked before I installed drivers for my specific mobo. Also, I don't know how to enable Sound Blaster in BIOS using this mobo. I can't locate the option anywhere. Please help.

List your computer specs. Are you having trouble with onboard sound or a PCI card? Try doing a restore point if you have Windows ME or Windows XP.

Really - try to be more descriptive of your setup.

Disable onboard audio (AC97) in BIOS setup and boot up.

On this new mobo I can't find any controls for sound blaster or any sort of audio whatsoever. It has an odd BIOS.

It's in Integrated Peripherals. You may have to scroll down to it. It's not called Sound Blaster either. It's called AC97.

Read your manual please.

Actually searching some I found it, but its not listed as AC97. Its only called Audio Controller. I noticed that something strange happens when the audio controller is enabled. When I try to shut down my computer when the audio controller is enabled, the computer gets to the "Windows is shutting down" screen and just sits there. However, when audio controller is disabled, the computer shuts down properly in about 1 second after clicking on shut down.

This still doesn't help me though. I still don't get any audio. Of course I would like to use my sound card instead of onboard audio, but if I can't I'll take anything.

Why do you insist on having onboard audio and a sound card enabled? They are conflicting. Choose one and disable the other. Then go to Multimedia devices in Control Panel and select the device you want to use. Lastly, turn up the volume.

Frankly, the onboard sound on that motherboard is superb. Take out the card and leave it enabled. Install the nForce2 drivers again to be sure:

Are you trying to play an old DOS game and don't get sound? Or you just don't get sound at all?

I knew the 2 audios would conflict if they were both enabled, but I didn't know I had to take out the sound card to enable the onboard audio and get it to work. As for the sound card, my parents just told me that the card was actually bad. Annoying that the information is just now being divulged to me. Anyway, I'll just take out the card and see what happens.

Try uninstalling your sound blaster card in the device manager reboot, enter BIOS, disable AC97 audio (or whatever it is) under integrated periphials and then reinstall the sound card.

Uh - the sound card is bad. Remove it and remove the software in Add/Remove Programs.

I uninstalled the sound card and removed the files in the device manager, and kept my onboard audio enabled, but still no sound.
