I use 2003 to back up to cd-r, other than that i have found I dont like it as much as 2002. Seems much pickier and has to run in the background. Have tried to boot floppy with both and 2002 seemed to work better as well. Storing Ghost image files directly to NTFS partitions Situation: You are using Ghost (Ghost.exe or Ghostpe.exe) to create an image of a disk or partition. You want Ghost to save the image file to a partition that has been formatted with NTFS (the Windows NT file system). Solution: Ghost's ability to save an image file directly to an NTFS partition depends on your Ghost version: Symantec Ghost 8.0 and Norton Ghost 2003 can save image files directly to NTFS partitions. Ghost consumer versions other than Norton Ghost 2003 cannot save image files directly to NTFS partitions. See the section "Alternative storage locations." Note that the version of Ghost included in Norton SystemWorks Professional Edition is a consumer version. The ability of Ghost corporate versions to save an image file directly to an NTFS partition depends on whether your Ghost version supports that connection type and whether that connection type supports NTFS. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/97dacc5430d93f2d85256aa300536849/f83d8e86c0a7bfef88256874006a7223?OpenDocument&prod=Norton%20Ghost&ver=2002%20for%20Windows%202000/NT/Me/98/XP&src=sg&pcode=ghost&svy=&csm=no dajogejr 01-19-2004, 11:36 AM Originally posted by r8500 2002 does NTFS just fine. 2002 will image an NTFS drive, but it won't WRITE to an NTFS drive. Currently, only 2003 and Corp. version 8.X will... r8500 01-19-2004, 11:37 AM sorry. my bad, I just knew you could copy ntfs drives with it :) Rob R. 01-19-2004, 11:41 AM Thanks guys...since I am still hanging on to FAT32, I guess I have nothing to gain with Ghost 2003. dajogejr 01-19-2004, 11:42 AM ;) I know 2003 does...and I'm pretty sure Corp 8.0 does, but...it might be corp 8.5... :t Ohh...looks like bad dog...answered that. it is 8.0 Good doggy...you get a treat!!:D SysOpt.com
