Well sorry for posting on the wrong area of discussion but I cant find the area for cd-rom so i posted it up here, the problem is my cd-rom is too fast for my system (56X) I already tried several programs like CD-Break, and also tried to lower the cache size on windows control panel on file system then cd-rom, but still nothing happened, I still got choppy movies and music play back on several games like red alert 2 and warcraft III trailer, and also extended architecture like Playstation CD's I never experienced these problems when I have slower cd-rom i.e. (40 X) (2X)

So, what's the question? Also would help to know more about your entire system.

Usually if you have problems, you can go to Tech support, but this one is fine. If you have questions about a device, you can go to the individual forums or come here when there is no specific forum for that topic (like now). http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Is DMA enabled for your cd-rom? You say the cd-rom is too fast for the system...is this the 200 MHz Pentium? If so, I would expect massively choppy games and movie playback because of processor speed, not cd-rom speed. To get non-hardware enhanced movie playback, you need around double the processing power.

Yep, agree with Dave. CD-ROM can't be "too fast", but your mobo/CPU/RAM can decrease your system's performance for sure.
