You look on pricewatch and find a similar system but with a Pentium III 600Mhz CPU and it is going for around $309.

I'd say for the entire package you would be looking at around $300-$400.

A quick look at the prices on ebay confirms this.

I would say the system would run something like this:

motherboard and processor = $250
Ram= $30
10GB drive= $60
40 GB drive = $80
floppy= $10
DVD= $50
Zip IDE= $40
NIC = $10
Modem= $30
Monitor = $200
Printer= $80
What kind of video? $0 if onboard
ditto for sound

= $840

These are for new parts on Pricewatch. Selling in a forum usually gets 10% or so below pricewatch (~$750). Selling on eBay may yield higher prices. Maybe 950 or 1000. More if you are lucky.

Hi,

I didn't post how I won the PC cause I didn't want it to be mistaken for soliciting. I entered a sweepstakes in a company who sells computer based training (www.smartcertify.com) - and I won this year. Trust me when I say I never thought anyone won these things but "ya never know"...

Hi,

I won a new Dell Pentium 4 1.4ghz PC w/a sweet 40gig hard drive.

I have a P3 - 400mhz (gateway) - though I was thinking of networking them, I was thinking of selling the Gateway. How much do you think I can get for it?

It's a GateWay G6-400 with 256mb RAM, 10gig hard drive, Win98, cd/dvdrom,zip drive,floppy, nic card, modem, 17" monitor and a Lexmark 5700printer.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
