Another favourite is rustoleum brand paint. It's one of the best paints for painting your case. One tip for you is to stick with the same brand when painting. Meaning same brand of primer, paint and clearcoat if you can. thekingofpain 09-04-2001, 04:03 PM I can share a painting tip as far as Rustoleum goes---beware! I painted a case recently then waited 4 days putting the parts in the sun each day to "bake" before spraying with the same exact brand etc of clearcoat---it wrinkled wildly, im talkin ¼" ridges in the finish, needless to say it was ruined and I spent a day colorsanding with 600 grit to provide a surface acceptable of a re-spray---(I shoulda just tossed it and bought another 22$ case salvaging the 300WT AMD approved p/s) contacted Rustoleum for an explanation they advised waiting a MONTH before spraying with their clearcoat...oh well actually the end result minus the clear came out pretty well... CadetStimp 09-04-2001, 08:36 PM Any laquer based autmotive spray paint would work best. Laquer is harder and the primer coat will be dry sandable. Also it will hold up against heat and light better (just in case your case runs hot). Also it dries very fast. (you'll be able to finish in one day) Enamel paints are softer and thicker. It's not hard to recognize enamel primer - you can't sand it very well (unless it has cured for a week that is) deltaf508 09-04-2001, 09:35 PM I went to ACE hardware n' got there "flat-Black" color to match my stereo equip http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I think it turned out great.... Sand it down with some reaaaaal fine sandpaper first (not the plastic, just metal) Gary SysOpt.com
