Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Is DDR ram more reliable than rambus?
In terms of errors. Rambus goes speeds up to 800 Mhz and has a bus speed of 100 X 4 so isn't that a waste or a cork? Will it be almost just as fast if it had 400 Mhz ram? The ddr ram seems to match up perfectly with the bus which makes more sense to me. Any inputs?

Reliability is more a question of manufacture quality of the RAM than type of RAM.
When buying either type It would be best to avoid Generic RAM (especially since DDR hasn't been out very long).
I usually prefer Micron or NEC RAM. I consider UNIGEN as the best, but over priced (unless you plan to do some overclocking..) I usually stay away from Siemens, Toshiba, or Panasonic RAM.

Also, aside from manufacture quality consider your vendor's method of handling the RAM.
I won't buy RAM from a shop that stores them open on plastic trays, stacks them 'naked', places their own generic sticker or 'price gun' tag on them, just tosses them on the counter unprotected and then wraps them up, are unwilling to light them up in front of you, etc.
If the chips are mishandled, it won't matter how well they were manufactured- they could be ruined or give you grief.
