Can you format a hard drive after it has been set up on your computer?

that sounded stupid...what I meant is, when you are using it as a slave, can you format it in the regular way.

A little more info please? What's your OS? Is this a second (slave) hdd or is it your primary (only) hdd? :D

it is a slave, and I am using Windows ME! sorry

you would have to partition the drive using fdisk first, then you could right click on the drive and click format.

Right, just make sure in FDISK, that you change to your second hdd before create your partition(s). It's number 5 at the main menu. Good luck! :D
