Yesterday i went to the computer show and bought me a new motherboard, processor and case... I bought a Amd Athlon XP 2800 (Barton) and an MSI K7N2G motherboard it was a real ***** to put together. i was freaking out it was real irritating... I may have pressed down too hard on the processor but that couldnt have an effect because its not like i did it forcefully. I was just trying to put the fan and heatsink on there... anyways i finally got it done after like 2 hours. and I loaded it up... first thing I saw fastrak controller not plugged in or detected or something like that, and it said bios not installed anyways I continued to try to load my windows but wouldnt work (since i took it out my old comp without formatting) so i formatted and it loaded and it worked fine played some games nice speed and graphics, but everytime it came on it still would say bios not installed... then after like 20 to 30 mins the computer started crashing and restarting and then it kept saying couldnt load ntfs error so i tried to reinstall the windows xp again but once it got to starting windows set up it would stop and say error also... what should i do how do I install bios i really need some serious help.... I also have a 430 watt power supply...

You can ignore the Fasttrack error if you're not using it:

You can disable it in BIOS, most likely.
Here it comes - read you manual. You have to go into BIOS setup and set CPU speed and other factors before installing. This is not a toaster - you have to know what you are doing. Your "Host Clock" or FSB needs to be set to 166MHz for the Barton. Your memory should be set to "SPD" for now.
I hope you didn't buy generic memory. The nForce2 chipset doesn't like cheap RAM.
Don't be afraid of BIOS setup. Otherwise, you should be buying your PCs from the likes of Dell. They love to do the thinking for you.
Oh - and update the BIOS.

oh alright I will try your info but first I will reset the bios which I just learned how to do... and yes im new at this I didnt know I had to set it to a certain type of settings depending on what processor I have since it needs 2700 or higher... I will try when I get home I hope this work I hope nothing is broken.
Thankyou for your help I will reply later on if successful or unsuccessful.

I had to take it out my old computer because I didnt have anymore money to buy ram at the PC Show I suspected my old computer was draining my ram because it had problems many times... Im going to buy new ram today should I buy pc 2700? because im not sure if y motherboard can support it since its a new motherbord and all and its only DDR. Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks for your time

Yes, get at least PC2700 (166MHz) RAM. Go for a brand name - Crucial's cheap and reliable :t

another thought while we're harping at you. next time put u'r cpu, hs/f on with the mobo out of the case. otherwise it'll be pain in the a?s to get it on while in the case. unless you remove u'r power supply.
just becareful. there is no such thing as stupid questions. just stupid people.
