Hello everybody,
I want to build a computer for the purpose of gaming. i will buy the geforce3 64mb, but being new in building comps, i havent the slightest clue of what mother board would be best suited for this purpose. i was thinking the ECS K7S5A cause of all the hype, but of course that doesnt necessarily mean that board is well suited for gaming. So what do you guys think? money not being an issue, how should i build my new comp?

Not sure about what motherboard you will want, I would do research, and see what these other guys have to say.. But I would definetly get a good amount of RAM. Good choice in a video card http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

And remember that if you are going for that video card, get a cpu greater than 800mhz (possibly more than 1000mhz) so that the cpu doesn't become the bottleneck in your system!

Regarding the motherboard, anything from Abit and Asus will do.! If you want the ECS, be sure to buy one with the SiS735 chipset as it has proven to be quite a contender.!

If you want more info on motherboards, browse the motherboard forum and ask or see the current threads!!!

ive been setting up machines for friends and family mostly for home and gaming..

geforce3 is over rated and very costly, its alright if your an fps gamer but for anything else i wouldnt spend that much on a card

as for the processor 1ghz is pretty much fine but you can buy a 1.2 for maybe $20 more or less

the motherboard that i think i had the easiest time with was the esc and pc chips 810lmr

by the way lots of memory http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif pump it up as much as possible :p 512 is awesome going any higher is just a waste of money for something pretty unnoticeable

Sizume, I was thinking about getting the geforce 3 but hated spending the money, what do you suggest instead?
