I want to clear some of my doubts: -
1) I have 256MB of RAM in which i have given 32MB Min and same amount of Max Cache to my 20GB of HDD. Is this enough or i should assign more RAM.
2) I have assign Name Cache Size 4096 and Directory Cache Size of 96. Is this fine or i should or i should assign more.
3) I have assign 4MB of cache size to the CD-ROM and Prefetch Cache Size of 2048 is this fine.
4) For my modem i have setted MTU of 576 RWIN of 8192 is this fine.
5) I have allocated 4 stakes pages(windows default is 2) is this fine.
6) I have allocated 350MB of swap file on a another partition. It is the last partition. But still when i run Photoshop 6 it say there is less Virtual Memory. But when configure windows to manage Virtual memory the softare runs properly. What can be the problem Because more than enough VM is allocated still it is not enough.
7) I have four partitions C: in which only windows, drivers ,Antivirus and Documents are stored. On D: there are all the softwares which i use. On E: there are all my Games and backup of my important files and documents. Is it OK to store windows and software on diff partitions Do this decreses the performance.
8) I have PII 350 Mhz on i440zx chipset. I have installed 256MB of PC-133 RAM in two dimms. Is it okay to have PC-133 RAM on a motherboard
which supports PC-100 RAM of 100Mhz of FSB.
9) Where can i find a BIOS update for my Award Bios. On there website they ask to fill the form with all details even after giving the information for more than 20times they don't send any reply. Where can i find a direct downloadable file. I have the flashing utility from Award v 8.03.
10) I have Creative SB PCI 64 soundcard i could not found a driver for Win ME on soundblaster website. There is a driver with Win ME "Creative AudioPCI (ES1370), SB PCI 64/128(WDM)" when i installed is it works fine but software which came along PCI 64 donnot work. I this fine to use it. What do WDM means? I use driver with ME because the original driver donnot supports Hibernate.
11) When I use memory intensive application and resources are down at about 75% or below (in the system property at performance tab) sound behaves irradically. It scrables and comes in a ruk - ruk manner. What can be the cause

I usually use Illustrator 9.0, Photoshop 5.5, Corel Photopaint and Ventur 8 and similar memory intensive software. Please clear my doubts So i can run my PC at is max performance. Well i defragment, scandisk, systemcheck(through Norton Utilites 2001) and scan system through McAfee 5.01(updated to 22/08/2001) on every sunday.
