I just finnished building my system, but I cannot get the Instant Music feature to work. I have enabled Instant Music in the bios, I have specified which optical drive to use and the audio cable is installed, but I cannot get the keyboard to open the tray or music to play when I insert a music disc. Other than that the computer seems to work fine. Does anyone have the same problem as me? Any suggestions to solve this problem?

Welcome to sysopt :t

1. do you see a sound device in Control Panel / System / Device or Hardware Manager? Is there an exclamation point?
2. did the OS (and which one are you using?) detect the onboard sound when you booted the system?
2. did you load your sound card drivers (use your install CD)?

let us know.....

My system:

Win XP Pro, ASUS P4P800 Deluxe, P4 2.4C, Seagate 80G SATA HDD, LG 16X DVD GDR-8161B, Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-A06U, XFX XF5200 128MB

There are no exclamation points in the Device or Hardware Manager. As far as the onboard audio, I have installed the driver for that and audio is working fine. However, I don't believe there is a driver for ASUS Instant Music to install, I believe it is suppose to be a built in function of the mobo. I would be interested to hear back from anyone who has used this feature to know that indeed it works.
