Seems everytime I startup IE I have to click on "view" and then "status bar" to get it to show on the bottom of the screen. For whatever reason, it does not save that setting and I have to consistantly redo it. Is there a way I can set it up so that its on by default?

Make it visible and then exit with File > Close. Also, open My Computer and make the Status Bar visible there. Now go into Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to all Folders.
