Hey all,
This past Christmas, I received Halo for the PC. I have actually grown fond of the game.
However, yestarday, I updated it and figured I would give it a try online. I sat around and found a server I felt would suit my skill level, (inferior), and tried to join.
Then, Halo tells me my CD-Key is invalid? How? I'm sure I can even get the receipt from my parents to prove to MS it's a real game!
Anyone have any suggestions?

I would contact Microsoft and tell them about the problem.

you need to e-mail Microsft, you may have to send them a pic of the disk but they will give you a new one.

What's an Edisk?
Also, does anyone know how to obtain that reference number when you initially install? You know, the one they say to write down in just this type of event?;)
Thanks!

at the first menu, click on settings, and in the new menu, mouse over the word About. I believe that displays the number you seek.

Cool, I think I'm going to do that! That is, send them a pic. I don't want to get put on hold. If that doesn't work, then I'll try giving a call or something.
BTW, I wasn't being smart - I honestly thought that you said Edisk:D
So, I guess I am now an idiot with a broken game...woa is Joey!
Thanks for you all's help!:t

So they're pretty good at helping when you have to call them over something that shouldn't have been a problem to begin with...
Sounds like good business sense to me.. or maybe they could just try to get the right CD keys with their software
just an idea
