Im a bit lost........ok.....a whole bunch lost.

I THOUGHT I just lost my HDD (it wouldnt partition except for 2gigs out of 40) but I bought a new 80 gig Maxtor 7200rpm, 8 mb cache
AND a Maxtor 20 gig, 7200 rpm, 2mb cache for this tower.

Its an Athlon 1.3 with a K7AMA motherboard.

Ive tried both HDDs, changed bios to every option, set all drives to CS (cable sellect), set them all master and slave by choice, changed ribbons, checked power supply (connectors on drives will power the cpu fan),

TRIED to set Bios to User and set size on the HDD in Bios but clicking up and down will not let me get to the zeros that load by default on the IDE-0 size

When All set to Auto or ANY of the above options.......the system will not recognize the HDD, the Dvd Rom nor the Cd-W rom.

Try clearing the BIOS (uplug the system, remove the battery for an hour then put it back in) then start out with just one hard drive jumpered as Master or Single on the primary IDE channel, one CDROM on the secondary IDE channel jumpered as Master.

Just put everything on AUTO. And make sure the IDE channels are enabled at all (from the Peripherals page of BIOS setup).

Besides, many boards won't boot if the CPU fan isn't connected to the onboard CPU fan header.
