Anyone know a reputable site that sells rounded ide and floppy cables?
To save you the trouble of suggesting it,I know how to do this myself but I saw some at a MarketPro show and I cant make mine look that good http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gifI would've grabbed some, but, the vendors were asking $15 for ata66 cables and $10 for the floppy cables.I'm looking to buy these pre-made ones to modify cases for other people so I could buy bulk.TIA for any replies.

I bought some green ones from Plycon.com (http://www.plycon.com/round.htm) , but there's a better color selection and lower prices at CoolerGuys.com (http://www.coolerguys.com/cpucool/round.shtml)

I used to know the name of the company that was supplying them to the online stores, but I cant remember it right now... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I purchased mine from Coolerguys also. They were nice cables and very flexible. They were about the same price that you mentioned above. You would probably have to call them about a bulk discount.

The whole point of them are to help with the cooling. With those flat cables, they block air flow.

Thanks, jeffpapier.Cyberguys is a nice site that I use sometimes, but they're all out of 18" cables.Directron has some for $8 but theyre the rigid shrink-wrapped type.I want the sleeved type because of thier flexibility.

Do they really get the job done?
How do you know if the airflow improved?

Imagine the difference between at least two 2"ribbon cables twisting around inside the computer case,re-directing the flow of air but not in a straight path out of the case. The 2" wide cables create baffles that can prevent the intake of cooler air reaching the heatsinks etc,and preventing the warmer air from leaving the case in an efficient manner.
Now imagine the same cables rounded to the diameter of 3/8" where air can move easily around the cables and not block the cooling path in or out.
I think that makes a huge difference.

I think I'll buy a couple just to see if they do the job!
But I will buy them not to have more effective cooling, I'll buy them because they make the inside of the case look nice! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
