Does anyone know how to go through Exchange 2000 server and verify that its not being misused somewhere along the line, such as being used as a relay for spam or viruses? I don't suspect an issue, but would like to know where to go to check. I have looked at the logs in a text editor and they seem to be OK, but aren't the most legible thingies in the world.

Any help gratefully appreciated!

Graeme

You need to open up a telnet session on port 25 and elicit a spam email response test!

Check your mail routing section and make sure the routing is set for your domain and aliases only!

Check the turf directory if you have enabled email slapdown!

Check the mail queues for the IMS as well - if you are being used as a spam relay they will literally be full to the gunnals!

Is there a log file viewer for exchange 2k? As in the actual Exxxxx.log files?
