Ok i am another pc and was wondering:
1. On an ide line of either 2 CD ROMS or 2 HARD DRIVES does it matter which order you put the CD ROM/HARD DRIVE on the ribbon cable?
2. Is anyone familiar with the MOTHERBOARD: ASUS A7M266 AMD 761 Chipset motherboard?

did i say "Few question"? Ok question 3. When building a new computer but using the old hard drives with the OS that i have been using with my old set up, is it wise to do a fresh format when computer is built to get the most out of the new computer or will it make no difference?

1. If you are putting a cdrom and a hard drive on the same cable, put the HD as a Master and the CD as a slave. If it is 2 cdroms, the order doesn't matter.
2.Nope,... I have read a lot of good things about it but I don't have experience with it!
3.I think it is better to start from the beggining. If you have a Windows install in the HD, Windows is configured for the other system you had so it will probably give you some errors or it will not be very stable.!

Thanks Eagle! Yeah ill do a fresh format. I have had the computer hang up on me a few times now. Reason i asked bout that card is that i have one and im wondering if there is any DIP switches or jumpers that i could possible change to better the performance in certain areas. Not so much Overclocking just setting up the MOBO the correct way. I have on it an AMD ATHLON TB 1.4gb. Any help would be great! cheers.

Regarding #1;
The master/slave relationship is normally determined by the jumpers on the drives, not their position on the IDE cable. If you're having trouble though, the end connector on the IDE cable is the one that's traditionally designated as "master".
I can't help with #2... sorry. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
#3 You don't have to do a clean install, but you're more likely to avoid problems if you do.
